Since I didn’t post last week’s highlights, today’s highlights and goals will also feature items from last week.
Reading Highlights Of The Week:
Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 1 (Week Of 8/10
I enjoyed volume 1 more than I thought I would. It’s outlandish yet funny. I consider Ouran to be the standard for funny shoujo. I am happy to have found another humorous shoujo. I hope to post my in-depth review of volume 1 later today.
Like A Butterfly, Vol. 2
I am really enjoying this sweet little series from the mangaka duo of A Sign Of Affection. I love it when two characters have actual similarities and start to fall for each other, and it’s not just the typical opposites attract situation.
Manga TBR For The Week:
A Sign Of Affection, Vol. 8
I just love how things are going for these two! Now that volume 9 is out, I can happily read volume 8.
Manga to be reviewed soon:
Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 1
The review is currently in progress and will hopefully be posted later today.
Perfect World, Vol. 2
This one has been on the back burner to be reviewed for a while. I hope to get to it this week. Manga with realistic disability representation Is always near and dear to my heart.
Anime Watching Updates:
Kimi Ni Todoke Season 3
I was so happy to discover that multiple episodes are available at once. I thought it would be a one-episode-a-week situation. I have watched two episodes, and I am so happy they kept the original anime’s art style. Hoping to finish the available episodes this week.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale
Insomnia inspired me to binge watch this series. I kept waiting for it to get interesting and it just never did. Challe is an interesting character and the magnificence that is Mithril Lid Pod is too, but the human characters fall flat. Note: in terms of the demographic for this series, most would probably agree it’s shoujo, but it has been published as a light novel as well as a shoujo manga and a seinen manga. So it’s a bit of an outlier.
